Hard Mode
I just completed Prophecies, which allows me to do missions in Hard Mode and Vanquish explorable areas in Hard Mode. So far I have been unable to complete a single vanquish or hard mode mission. Could someone tell me a good mission/area to start with?

I bet it's your team build setup that's the main problem. The most common builds are listed on PvX: http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Category:G...general_builds check thouse under team builds
The most common ones would be discordway, sabway and dual spirit spammers. As for areas, I think the earlier ones are a bit easier. But HM is desiged to be dificult all over. I'd suggest ascalon or somewhere where you just got an 8man party. Maybe try the area outside Yaks bend, for early 6man and ice foes. |

Yeah, the bridge between Hard mode and normal mode is quite big.
Once you play Hard mode a lot you tend to play everything in hard mode. If i make a new character, as soon as it reaches level 20 regardless of progress inside the campaign I will switch on hard mode just because it gives the game that little bit more edge it is meant to have by being a challange. If you cant beat an area, I suggest you revise your Hero+your own builds. Make your hero builds combine with yours for maximum efficiency. Using Mark of pain without a single physical doesnt do any good etc. thinking about simple things like this is what keeps flaws out of a build. Also visit PvXwiki for ideas as the previous poster said. |

Try the 6man areas and missions, and the 8man areas in the shiverpeaks. The 4man missions and areas are very difficult to the inexerienced vanquisher. Especially vanquishing the Eastern Frontier.
Try The Great Northern Wall (don't forget a speed boost), but don't do the other 4man missions for now. Kryta and the Maguuma Jungle is also easy to vanquish, with the exception of Majesty's Rest due to the presence of Rotwing. |

Exactly as the op said.
4man zones in proph are a real pain. Try to start with easy areas for the feel of hard mode. If you have access to a RoJ monk, or if you can deal holy damage, try vanquishing parts of kryta. |

The 8 man areas are also generally pretty easy, as are a few of the 4 man areas. Old Ascalon, Northern Wall, Ranik, Traveler's Vale and Ascalon Foothills were included in my first HM activities. |

Hmmm, i would start with the larger party areas first before you work ur way down to 4-man hardmode. and its not exactly that any area is really easier. What you want to do is sit down and take a good long hard look at ur team build and do ur best to improve upon it for the increased difficulties of HM.

i personally started at scoundrel's rise + griffon's mouth vq, it's pretty easy-going with henches. just try to get some skills that will work out there in hard mode - keep in mind that elemental and physical damage is reduced cause of heightened armor of enemies and that they spam their attacks/skills more often. consider going /n or /me secondary (unless it's your primairy) and try using skills like spiteful spirit, empathy, backfire, even chaos storm ain't that bad. also using minions is very useful, even if you have ~10 death magic and can't control them that well as a hero - it's still more targets for mobs than just your team. so go /n secondary and get animate bone minions on your tab. |

You should really bring heroes along for HM, even if you have to go to Nightfall to bring them back to Prophecies, it's worth it. |

Also, having a friend tag along makes it a lot easier.

Scoundrels Mouth was the first area I vanquished, followed by Witmans Folly, Sabway heroes plus henchmen made the job fairly easy.

Don't think anything too deadly in Pockmart Flats. Once you have decent heroes most areas won't be that hard. Ones like Lornar's Pass & Majesty's Rest can be a pain tho

I personally find that the areas where you can run 8-man teams are the easiest to start out with, because you have backup, in a way - whereas in 4-man areas, if one side fails for whatever reason, you have a problem.
